Why are you blogging? How can you have time write a blog? What is your motivation in spending so much time on your blog? These are the kind of questions I am frequently asked by those around me.
While I am extremely busy (just like the rest of you), I have made it a priority in my life to write this blog. The why behind the blog is something that I didn’t quite know when I first began. As I have mentioned in previous post, knowing the WHY behind WHAT you are doing is extremely important (Are You Rich?). What I did know is that the highest form of leadership is giving back and helping others reach their full potential. So in an effort to be a better leader I felt that blogging would be a great way to accomplish this.
Through the process of writing for this blog I have been able to find more clarity in the WHY behind what I am doing. I have two main focal points in what I write:
To help my readers generate the proper mindset on creating wealth and financial freedom in their life. Too often people focus most, if not all, their attention on building skills and obtaining degrees, however 90% of wealth building is the way you think and 10% are the skills you possess. I am confident that if I can help change the way people look at money and finances then they will be able to use the skills they possess to create massive wealth.
To encourage and help others to BE rich. There are plenty of programs in the world that will help you get rich, but what about how to be rich? The world has enough self-centered rich people. People that believe that all they have is for their own consumption. My focus is to not only write about ways to create wealth, but also how to handle wealth. All too often the rich consume at the same rate as their earnings, ultimately resulting in being consumed by their wealth. To BE rich is to live life with margin, to enjoy what you have, to use your wealth to better those around you, and most importantly to view wealth as a responsibility not a luxury!
I feel that my experiences are ones that many can relate to. I came from a middle class family and started with no monetary help from my family (which is not a complaint, I would have it no other way). My first job after finishing college was as a high school teacher. I built my wealth by utilizing real estate, a form of investment that is familiar to almost everyone. Just turn on the television tonight and count how many home remodeling, flipping, and real estate purchasing shows you see. I am led by my faith and I answer to God in all I do. I know I am far from perfect, but I strive daily to become a better man, father, husband and follower of Christ. I have known what it is to have very little and, by the grace of God, I now know what it is to have abundance. So, whether you are just starting out in building your financial future or have already acquired great wealth, my hope is that this blog will help you live a life with fullness and BE RICH in life, not just in possessions!
